Now here’s something practically guaranteed to get the “teabaggers” to stockpile their ammunition and otherwise come out of the woodwork. Ostensibly at least, the initiative is coming from a coalition of mayors, not the Obama administration. Is the administration interested in such a thing? Might it not provoke a legal challenge, given the direction the Supreme Court seems interested in taking, as indicated by District of Columbia v. Heller?
